Mr. Paul De Grauwe, Professor of International Economics and holder of the John Paulson Chair in European Political Economy at the European Institute of the London School of Economics and Political Science. He is also a Research Fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research in London.
He was a member of the Economic Policy Analysis Group, advising President Barroso. He also served as director of the CESifo Research Network on Monetary, Macro, and International Finance at the University of Munich. 

Before joining the London School of Economics (LSE), Paul De Grauwe was a professor at the University of Leuven (Belgium). Between 1991 and 2003, he served in the Belgian Parliament. He also holds honorary doctorates from the Universities of St. Gallen (Switzerland), Turku (Finland), Genoa (Italy), Valencia (Spain), and Maastricht (Netherlands).

Paul De Grauwe earned his PhD in Economics from Johns Hopkins University (1974). He has been a visiting professor at numerous leading academic institutions, including the University of Paris, the University of Michigan, the University of Pennsylvania, Humboldt University of Berlin, the Université Libre de Bruxelles, the Université Catholique de Louvain, as well as the universities of Amsterdam, Milan, Tilburg, and Kiel. He has also been a researcher at the IMF, the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, the Bank of Japan, and the European Central Bank.
